Concierge Team / Adventure Desk Team

At The Wildbirch Hotel, our Concierge Team / Adventure Desk Team serve as the welcoming face of our unique boutique property and main contact for our guests for world-class experiences in Alaska.

Their passion is to enhance guest experiences by providing personalized assistance, booking and tailoring personalized excursions and experiences for our guests, handling requests, and acting as a point of contact for information and services, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay and to allow our guest to discover the genuine Alaska.

A valid work authorization for the USA is required - Please note that we do not provide any visa sponsoring for the listed role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adventure Service and Coordination:
    • Organizing excursions, adventures, cultural experiences and outdoor trips.
    • Arranging transportation, such as taxis, airport transfers, and car rentals.
    • Facilitating special requests, such as flower deliveries, spa appointments, or VIP services.
    • Managing guest complaints and escalating issues to the appropriate personnel.
    • Maintaining a detailed knowledge of the hotel and local area.
    • Coordinating with other hotel departments to ensure guests' requests are met.
  • Guest Assistance:
    • Greeting guests and providing a welcoming experience.
    • Answering guest inquiries, both in person and via phone.
    • Assisting with check-in and check-out procedures.
    • Handling luggage and deliveries.
    • Providing directions and recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and activities.
    • Making reservations for restaurants, events, and transportation.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Answering and directing phone calls.
    • Managing mail, luggage, and deliveries.
    • Recording incoming and outgoing deliveries.
    • Assisting with general business services for guests.
  • Other Duties:
    • May be responsible for managing the concierge lounge or guest services area.
    • May train existing staff to provide concierge services.
    • May be involved in hiring and supervising staff.

  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Previous front desk, concierge, hotel or customer service experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read and respond in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiastic, service-oriented, and with a passion for hospitality and Alaska's vibrant culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with web-based tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical & Availability Requirements:

  • This role requires standing for long periods and occasional lifting of light materials.
  • The hotel operates 24/7, and availability for shifts on weekends, holidays, and nights is expected.
