Essential duties and responsibilities include setup for events using in-house audio/visual equipment, operating spotlights for shows when needed, unloading and loading client trucks as required, basic flyrail operation, equipment changeover between shows, and moving scenery on and off stage per show needs. Skills required include proper knowledge and use of procedures, techniques, machines, materials, equipment, and tools used in technical construction and maintenance; knowledge and technique in the use of lighting, sound, audiovisual, and rigging equipment used at Capital One Hall; maintaining effective working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others; reading and comprehending blueprints, drawings, and related materials; following oral and written instructions and communicating effectively. Education required is a high school diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical requirements include the ability to move around the facility, stand for long hours during events, talk and hear, work inside or outside as needed, stoop and lift up to 75 lbs.
