In office – 4 days a week in NYC office

The Senior Bedding Designer leads the planning, creative vision, design, and creation of soft home bedding products for the Company. Must be a seasoned soft home bedding designer with at least 10-15 years of experience in the category. This role collaborates with Product Development, Sales, and all stakeholders to deliver designs that meet the business needs and are on budget. The Senior Designer ensures that the bedding category goals are met. Must be from soft home and have the ability to advance to the next level of leadership as the business scales.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design bedding products and assortments and produce tech packs for overseas factory partners.
• Manage a couple of offshore CAD designers.
• Your vision, perspective and collaboration with customers and the internal team translates into outstanding products with superior branding.
• Interpret customer needs, templates, and branding strategies into new styles.
• Ability to work well with sales and key accounts (ex. Kohl’s and Belk’s) and translate ideas and concepts into beautifully designed new products and programs that are manufactured at the right cost basis.
• Finalize and release press-ready design files to overseas vendors
• Communicate effectively with overseas offices and factories for all necessary production and development.
• Maintain awareness of current trends in the industry.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 10-15 years of experience in Soft Home Goods industry with at least 10 years of Bedding Design.
• Exceptional project management experience and strong multi-tasking abilities.
• Very proficient in Adobe Creative Suite products especially Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong organizational skills, incredibly positive and always meets deadlines.
• Experience designing store brands, licensed brands and private label products for major retailers, clubs and the off-price channel.
• A keen eye for color and design salability for bedding market.
• Must possess an outstanding sense of design and creativity.
• Knowledge and experience directly in the home fashions textile industry.
• Ability to communicate collaboratively with retailers and cross functionally.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet or exceed deadlines.
