About the Company

This location's operation, including both the mine and the mill, has been in production since 1976 and is a leader in molybdenum mining. The mine is an underground block-cave operation located west of Empire, CO, while the mill is situated 15 miles away in the high-altitude beauty between Dillon and Kremmling. The sites are connected by a unique 15-mile conveyor system-10 miles of which run underground beneath the Continental Divide.

Surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest, the Henderson mine and mill provide employees access to world-class outdoor recreation year-round, including cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Mechanic to support operations at our Henderson mine or mill. In this role, you'll be responsible for preventative maintenance, component repairs, and diagnostics on a wide range of mining and milling equipment.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical components on crushers, conveyors, ball/auto mills, filter systems, and more

• Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on equipment

• Troubleshoot failures including belt, gear, and rotor systems

• Prioritize equipment repairs and make decisions independently

• Conduct welding tasks (Stick, TIG)

• Mentor and train new employees in mechanical maintenance

• Operate forklifts, cranes, pneumatic tools, and other equipment

• Fill in for supervisors as needed

Required Experience/Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (welder, boilermaker, machinist, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and industrial maintenance experience

• Must meet Line of Progression (LOP) requirements where applicable

• Ability to pass written technical exam and demonstrate basic welding proficiency

• Proficiency in reading and using schematics and blueprints

• Strong English communication and time management skills

• Willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment

Nice-to-Haves

• High School Diploma or GED

• Advanced welding skills and hands-on diagnostic repair experience

Education

• Relevant vocational training or hands-on experience required

• High School diploma or GED preferred

$29.50 - $39.50 per hour (base pay, dependent on experience and skills)
