Job Description

Promotes Vanguard's products and services to clients by partnering with sales professionals. Applies advanced understanding of products and the market to highlight pros and cons of various investments and highlight the appropriate features, products, and services that Vanguard offers.

Vanguard has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Consultant who will manage a sales Book of Business of High Net Worth (HNW) self-directed clients who have sales opportunity and/or external share of wallet propensity.

You will drive business growth and add client value by implementing an effective client outreach and book of business strategies. By using your advanced sales skills, you will conduct high-touch, targeted prospecting activities, including cold calling and virtual communications. This role collaborates with peers cross-site to help drive individual and team results, experiment with new techniques, and participate in regular group coaching and skill building sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieves sales results and sales activity goals as set by the leadership team. Identifies opportunities and moves clients through the sales process, driving outcomes toward larger growth goals and creating promoters of Vanguard.
  • Drives results and raises awareness of Vanguards investment products and services by delivering key messages through targeted cold calls to prospective clients and other virtual communications.
  • Competes with outside competitors and communicates the value of Vanguard services to prospective clients to influence their decision to partner with Vanguard for meeting their investment goals.
  • Execution of the sales and lead generation strategy for outreach, with a particular focus on growing relationships, attracting new high value and high net worth clients and generating advisor consultations among existing clients with an expressed interest in Vanguard services.
  • Serves as a key member of the dedicated outreach team, helping to set strategy and tactics for the department. Provides feedback to internal teams and other stakeholders on the effectiveness of campaigns and lead sources and directions to guide the client experience.
  • Develops a high level of expertise related to the capital markets, the investment management industry, and marketplace developments. Utilizes this expertise, along with product knowledge, to be a trusted consultant to client and prospective clients, and positions vanguard products and services effectively.
  • Proactively assesses new opportunities and risks in a rapidly changing competitive and investment environment.
  • Assesses the needs of each client by asking targeted, high impact questions and positions on the appropriate product and/or service that meet those needs. Asks for the clients business.
  • Serves as a role model for the new crew on the team.
  • Proactively supports broader corporate initiatives and participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience, including sales experience.
  • Minimum three years general experience and three years industry/technology. Financial services or cold calling experience preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7, 66, licenses are required or the ability to obtain in the specified timeframe.
  • Exceptional client relationship management experience and sales consultative skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Broad knowledge of Vanguard funds, products and services and markets preferred.
