Ready to be an important part of our repower team as a Field Engineer? 
 
The Field Engineer plays a key role in leading and supporting due diligence, engineering, and technical development activities for large-scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on 80/20 repowers. This position is integral to preparing competitive EPC bids, evaluating site feasibility, and supporting both business development and operations for successful project outcomes. A strong emphasis is placed on aligning engineering strategy with project economics, permitting, and optimization to ensure the success of 80/20 repower initiatives.

  • Support an optimized repower strategy focused on improving reliability and increasing power output? 

  • Lead or contribute to technical due diligence efforts, evaluating site conditions, turbine verification, laydown setup, and civil components? 

  • Shape and validate project repower scopes with a focus on regulatory, technical, and compliance requirements? 

  • Collaborate across business development and engineering teams to assess constructability, logistics, and project risks? 

Are You Ready to: 

  • Conduct on-site evaluations to assess turbine conditions and identify project risks. 

  • Develop site-specific execution plans and construction work packages. 

  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics to organize delivery, laydown, and staging. 

  • Analyze SCADA data, historical performance, and component history with engineering teams to identify upgrade opportunities. 

  • Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and zoning regulations. 

  • Provide daily technical field support during turbine removal, upgrades, and installations. 

  • Troubleshoot real-time issues and coordinate with engineering, operations, and project leads for resolution. 

  • Oversee QA/QC standards during installation and retrofitting. 

  • Support commissioning, punch list closure, and project turnover documentation. 

What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 

  • Valid Driver's License 

  • Proven experience with wind energy construction projects. 

  • Deep understanding of wind turbine systems (rotors, nacelles, towers), foundations, and site infrastructure relevant to repowering or construction. 

  • Familiarity with EPC contracts and supporting competitive bid responses for retrofit or upgrade scopes. 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Working knowledge of interconnection, permitting, and regulatory compliance in repower contexts 

  • Able to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening 

  • Experience developing upgrades/improvements preferred

This weight must include the individual, their tooling, uniform, and personal protective equipment.
