Creative Video Producer

Department: Athletics Office - 120000

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years of experience in sports videography
  • Experience using video editing software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve
  • Experience shooting sports with mirrorless and/or DSLR cameras
  • Experience with studio lighting and setup
  • Demonstrated creative and artistic ability with visual content
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at a time
  • Proficiency with technology and social media
  • Must be able to travel and work long hours on occasion

License/Certification Required

Preferred Qualifications
Progressive experience with:
  • Organizing photo/video shoots and traveling with sports teams
  • Athlete recruits and recruiting staff
  • Social media strategy and best practices

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that
intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution's overall program of education.
Priority is given to high standards of both academic and athletic quality - the goal being the
complete development of the student-athlete. The Creative Video Producer position reports
directly to the Assistant Director of Creative Video and works to create engaging digital art that allows the student-athletes, students, and the fan base to draw a connection with Appalachian State University Athletics. Some of the responsibilities include:
  • Create high-quality, compelling videos and other creative content for App State Football and any other assigned App State Athletics sports and projects
  • Assist with the creative and visual storytelling direction for App State Athletics
  • Produce content including, but not limited to, highlight packages, hype videos, behind-the-scenes features, student-athlete profiles, team motivationals, intro videos, uniform reveals, social media content, and fan engagement content
  • Collaborate with App State Athletics' external units to tell compelling stories and promote the App State brand
  • Work with football coaching staff, recruiting/personnel staf,f and Director of Football
  • Creative Media to plan and produce recruiting content, photo/video shoots, and other creative content
  • Member of the Football Content team
  • Demonstrate proficiency and creativity in video editing, color correction, and sound design
  • Demonstrate proficiency as a cinematographer in both studio and live sporting event settings, along with creative lighting and studio setup
  • Oversee student workers, managing their assignments and serving as a mentor and teacher
  • Uphold brand and preset standards
  • Balance multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Organize, manage, and process internal and external video files and requests
  • Organize, archive, and keep inventory of video equipment and files
  • Other duties as assigned

Commitment to and compliance with the University's and Department of Athletics' policies and
procedures as well as the Sun Belt Conference and NCAA constitutions, bylaws, legislation, and
regulations

Work Schedule/Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00-5:00 pm except when traveling. Evening, weekend and holiday work is required
Suggested Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000
